What's in a name?

Many people have asked me why "ALTA"... where does that name even come from? Those close to me will recognize it as one of my favorite places: Alta Lake (a small lake tucked in a valley in North Central Washington), but it is more than that.

Wow... that sounds like a mouthful. Let me break it down for you...

Adaptive

Change happens so fast that it is critical to be agile. This holds true for companies, leaders, and for each one of us. Who would have thought we would see a large retailer sell a new corporate office because their employees are now working from home? Or that supervisors would have one-on-ones with their employees while their cat climbs across their keyboard? Change continues to happen and ALTA will continue to adapt to each new situation and client's needs.

Leadership

Leaders have the single biggest impact on an employee's experience. They have the choice to set the vision for their organization, provide mentorship to a high-performer, or ignore a new employee. ALTA works with leaders to enhance the experience for their employees through team development, coaching, and consultation.

Talent

People are the differentiator of any organization; companies can buy the same computers, phones, even snacks for the break room, but their people are the true talent. While ALTA may work with leaders, my focus is on the talent: the heart of the organization.

Alliance

Partnerships come in many forms: between neighbors, between organizations, between family members. The relationships that stand the test of time are built on trust and benefit everyone involved. I deliberately build relationships with my clients and by doing so, I know that I will not be able to solve all of their challenges. To serve my clients better, ALTA intentionally builds alliances with other consultants to find the right solutions for my clients.

So yes, while Alta Lake is a retreat and holds a special place in my heart...
